Shanna Lynne Design

Hi, I’m Shanna the Artist and Illustrator behind Shanna Lynne Design. My love for patterns comes from childhood. I’d often admire Pooh Bear, Christopher Robin and Piglet as they walked down the stairs in the pattern of the curtains that hung in my childhood room. Admired the flowers and patterns in my quilt that was handcrafted by family. Games of finding shapes in the sky and crayon drawings filled my childhood.

My journey as a Surface pattern designer began with a simple question from a co-worker. She asked me “if you weren’t working here, doing what you are, what would you want to do?” Immediately I responded “with creating art for the home, like shower curtains and stuff like that” to which she replied “How do we get you to do that?” That question stuck with me for about a year or so before taking a course by Bonnie Christine in 2019. Having experience as a Graphic designer/production artist I had made patterns prior with other peoples art but never my own. I was hit with the design bug and have designed patterns and motifs almost every days since.

My patterns are floral base as they are my favorite subject to draw. I do stretch my skills and include other botanicals, insects, birds, geometric shapes and more. I created the font used to type this bio. My list of ideas is long and I cannot wait to bring them to life and share them with you.
